Consider the possibility that when it says men it means men. You women are already spiritual; you were born that way. You have the ability to give birth....
Many women are brought up in traditions that speak of men and to men (no offense to the guys)... and led to believe that the term men applies to them too. What if it doesn't?
Have you looked in the mirror lately? Does that image look like a man to you?
Anytime we are measured against a yardstick that's not ours, we will feel like a misfit, lacking, not good enough, less than.
A woman's spirit is different than a man's.
My awakening came when I realized the church of my childhood had no idea what a woman's spirit needed. It did not want us to be strong empowered wise woman leaders of spirit, and shine. It was a spiritual single-parent family with a patriarch at the top. And the family had no mother. ... except that every good catholic girl grows up instinctively praying to Mary. Hail Mary, mother of God. Ahhh...there's the goddess.
And my journey circled around. There were more questions. And the answers would not be found inside the church of my childhood. Leaving has its challenges...and to stay was no longer possible...
I left 'home' to find what I needed, what my soul needed, so I could become and grow as a woman of spirit I was being led to be.
My calling has always been a spirital one. The church of my childhood said 'You can't follow that one. You're a girl." The Spirit of Life laughed and said, 'Oh, really?' and led me on another way.
You have your own story and journey. And I'm at your service if you need me.
Who do you think you are to question...? to think that you know better, or more than the pastor or minister ?
Those words haunt.
And until a woman can answer them from a place of confidence and grounding, her spirit will be less than free.
